Hiking trails in the Rhön closed after storms – Bavaria

As a result of the storms of the past few weeks, numerous hiking trails in Lower Franconia are still closed. According to the Rhön UNESCO biosphere reserve, many paths are still blocked, especially in the Black Mountains nature reserve. Danger is currently posed by numerous stuck trees that could fall to the ground at any time, it said on Friday.

The Unesco Biosphere Reserve Rhön warns against entering numerous forest roads and hiking trails between Berghaus Rhön, Würzburger Karl-Straub-Haus and Kissinger Hütte. Life is currently in danger in these areas of the forest.
