High youth sentences demanded in Mistelbach’s double murder – Bavaria

A year after the double murder of a doctor couple in Mistelbach, the verdict against the accused daughter and her boyfriend is to be announced on January 23. The pleas were held before the Bayreuth district court on Wednesday, a spokesman said. Because of the age of the accused, the hearing was held without public.

The public prosecutor’s office therefore asked the chamber to pronounce the accused guilty of “complied murder in two cases with a majority of the crime”. The accused is said to have surprised and stabbed his girlfriend’s parents while they were sleeping, while the accused is said to have prevented her siblings from intervening. At the start of the trial last October, the prosecutor accused the two of having planned the crime.

The 51-year-old pediatrician and his 47-year-old wife, who was also a doctor, died on the night of January 9, 2022 from multiple stitches in the chest, neck and face, the prosecutor explained. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the 19-year-old should be sentenced to a youth sentence of 13 years and six months because of the particularly serious guilt. The public prosecutor’s office demanded nine years and six months for the 17-year-old defendant.

Her defense attorney, on the other hand, demanded an acquittal because her complicity had not been proven. The 19-year-old’s defense attorney spoke out in favor of a prison sentence of nine years and six months.
