High school students from Sucy-en-Brie hospitalized had consumed “Buddha Blues”

The three high school students from Sucy-en-Brie (Val-de-Marne), hospitalized on Wednesday, had consumed “Buddha Blues”, a toxic synthetic cannabis which causes the same effects as THC, the psychotropic molecule of cannabis, announced Friday the floor of Créteil. These three students were hospitalized on Wednesday morning after inhaling the substance by vaping with an electronic cigarette, according to a police source.

Without sequelae

One of the young people felt unwell while the other two complained of nausea and palpitations. The three victims “left the hospital on Wednesday without sequelae”, according to the Créteil prosecutor’s office. Two other young people suspected of having sold them the “Buddha Blues” had been taken into custody. The latter were lifted on Thursday “pending the return of the blood samples of the three victims”, indicates the prosecution.

This synthetic drug, which is also nicknamed PTC (for “Fart your skull”), is sold in liquid or powder form. For several years, drugs have been circulating periodically in French schools. Last April, several high school students were hospitalized in the Nord department and in Tarbes after consuming it.
