High school evacuated due to strong smell, two people taken to hospital

Large relief deployment around 1:30 p.m. this Thursday at Norbert-Casteret Vocational High School of Saint-Gaudens, south of Toulouse. The firefighters were called because of a “suspicious odor”. She led them to evacuate 340 students from the buildings.

In all, eleven people were treated “in relative urgency”, two of whom had to be taken to hospital according to the report provided by the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service which intervened with five vehicles.

The hypothesis of a tear gas canister

“After recognition, the toxicity readings do not reveal the presence of dangerous substances, reassured the firefighters around 4 p.m. The most likely hypothesis would be the use of a tear gas canister”. Joke, accident or malice? The investigation of the gendarmes will have to determine it.
