Four out of five retail companies in Hessen do not want to use the 2G option model. This emerges from a quick poll by the trade association.

According to a survey, the so-called 2G model is not an option for four out of five retail companies in Hesse. Only companies with product ranges that require a lot of advice – such as bridal wear and photo shops or opticians – can for the most part imagine only receiving people who have been vaccinated and recovered in their stores. This is the result of a lightning survey of the Hesse trade association that was completed on Friday.

He asked about the mood among its members after Hessen extended the 2G option model to the entire retail sector. Until then, this access model was only allowed for events in retail. How many dealers took part in the sample was initially not known.

Restaurateurs and organizers could usually use it beforehand

The survey by the trade association largely coincides with the assessment of the state government. Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) had already said at the start of the new ordinance that he was assuming that businesses for everyday needs tend not to make use of the option model.

On Tuesday, the state of Hesse announced that the 2G option model would be extended to the entire retail sector, including the food retail sector. Operators in the culture, gastronomy and event sectors were able to apply the 2G rule beforehand. Those who only allow those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered in their rooms or shops may waive the requirement to keep a mask and a mask.
