He was only 73 years old and still had a lot planned: The designer Thierry Mugler died on January 23, 2022 and the stars are also mourning the creative head of the fashion industry.
Fashion designer Manfred Thierry Mugler surprisingly passed away on Sunday January 23rd. His death was announced on the designer and photographer’s social networks. In the 1970s, Mugler founded his own fashion label, which quickly became popular with the stars, making him one of the most successful designers of the 1980s and 1990s. But even in the last few decades and through his stunning fragrance creations, such as the world-famous perfume “Alien”, Manfred Thierry Mugler remained in conversation and one of the greatest of his time.
“Miss you Thierry Mugler, this has been a wonderful time in our lives,” Diana Ross wrote alongside her photo posted on Twitter.

Hollywood celebrities and the fashion world mourn the loss of a great designer. Kourtney Kardashian posts a picture of the Kardashian-Jenner family all dressed up in Muglers on her Instagram story, Mick Jagger’s daughter, Georgia May Jagger, commented on the death announcement on the designer’s Instagram by saying: “I can’t believe this is supposed to be true.” Many more comments, such as those from Heidi Klum, sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid, and Carla Bruni to follow. Actress Diane Kruger posts a photo of herself on Instagram in a creation by the fashion designer.
The 45-year-old wrote: “I remember being very impressed when I met Thierry Mugler. I don’t know what he was thinking about letting a skinny 16-year-old walk the catwalk with the supermodels, but it was an incredible experience. He gave women an incredible imagination to wield their sexual energy like a weapon. Rest in power.”
The model Irina Shayk also addresses Thierry Mugler and her followers with touching words and a heartbreaking Instagram post with several snapshots: “You left too soon. The god of fashion, a rare, true, polite and sweet. Your Russian will miss you forever.”
