Many people in Germany probably still associate “time for something to happen” with the “summer fairy tale” of the 2006 Football World Cup in Germany. The song by pop legend Grönemeyer, which was created in collaboration with the duo Amadou & Mariam, made it to number one in the German charts at the time. Successful combination of music legend and rapper

The collaboration between a German music legend and a German rapper has become a small trend in the past. Udo Lindenberg (77) and Apache 207 (26) took off with their hit “Komet”. The song has been consistently featured in the German single charts since January 2023 and gave Lindenberg the first number one hit of his career.

In May 2023, Otto Waalkes (75) reinterpreted his iconic song “Friesenjung” together with rappers Joost Klein (26) and Ski Aggu (26). This collaboration also made it to number one in the German single charts.
