Helldivers 2 will not have a PvP mode.
Since its release at the beginning of February on PS5 and PC, Helldivers 2 has mutated into the first big shooter hit of the new year, which impresses solo, but above all with its fun co-op mode for up to four players.
However, the emerging desire for a PvP mode in which players fight each other as a team has now been clearly rejected by developer Arrowhead.
There will ‘never’ be a PvP mode in Helldivers 2
Game director Johan Pilestedt has now given the clear rejection via X. He writes:
Hey! We will “never” add a PvP mode. We do this to reduce toxic elements and keep them away from our community.
According to Pilestedt, Helldivers 2 is intended to provide an environment in which players support each other, have fun and fight on the same side. The game director still puts the “never” in quotation marks because his mother taught him never to say “never.”

Escape from Tarkov is generally considered one of the biggest shooter hits of recent years with PvP, although it is only available on PC.
