After three years without the “Helene Fischer Show”, the pop queen made her ZDF comeback on Christmas Day. A duet with colleague Beatrice Egli not only caused positive comments.

Düsseldorf – There was certainly no lack of well-known stars in the long-awaited comeback of the “Helene Fischer Show”. The prominent guest list boasted big names such as rock legend Peter Maffay (74) or the two-time “Eurovision Song Contest” winner Loreen (40), but pop fans also came – thanks to Melissa Naschenweng (33), Ben Zucker (40) or Beatrice Egli (35) – at their expense.

Playback in “Helene Fischer Show”: Duet with Beatrice Egli attracts criticism

But not only Helene Fischer’s guests, but also the pop queen herself provided musical accompaniment throughout the evening. A very special highlight awaited ZDF viewers less than an hour after the show began: Helene Fischer sang her hit “Zuhaus” in a duet with her colleague Beatrice Egli.

However, the fact that playback was used noticeably, as is not uncommon in the big hit shows, really annoyed some ZDF viewers: “Are they singing playback? Helene doesn’t need that any more than Beatrice Egli does,” criticized a hit fan on X (formerly Twitter). Another even denounced: “Honestly… If you want to be a real artist, you simply MUST not sing playback. That’s not possible!” In other posts, however, it was said mockingly: “Impressive playback”, “So playback off” or “Of course, full playback again”.

Too obvious playback in the “Helene Fischer Show”: Viewer gives ZDF tip

A particularly critical “Helene Fischer Show” viewer then shared a tip for the show’s employees, which should help to at least somewhat conceal the use of playback in the future: “It would be very clever of the sound control to use the microphone for the text announcements the Fischer has to be as loud as the volume for the full playbacks. Then it’s not quite as noticeable.”

Others, however, criticized the fact that “Zuhaus” was not a duet for the first part of the hit show, but rather the end of the evening: “Why is this happening now?” asked one puzzled viewer. However, there was no lack of great emotions later on: a sick child star almost moved Helene Fischer to tears.
