Pop star Helene Fischer gives her only concert this year on Saturday – 130,000 fans don’t want to miss it. However, heavy rain and thunderstorms could cause problems.

Tomorrow, Saturday, Helene Fischer’s mega concert will take place in Munich at 8 p.m. The organizer has now announced that all 130,000 tickets are sold out. But concerns about a carefree concert are growing. The reason: a look at the weather report. Heavy rainfall has been announced for the entire weekend in the Bavarian state capital. There could also be occasional thunderstorms. The German Weather Service gave one on Friday official severe weather warning for Munich. So far, this is valid until Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Admission to the Munich Exhibition Center, where the concert will take place, is from 2 p.m.

But what does that mean in concrete terms if a storm hits the event site on Saturday evening? In an interview with the “Abendzeitung” Tobias Kapfelsberger, spokesman for the district administration department responsible for security at such major events, explains this scenario. Even before the event begins, there is close coordination between event management, KVR, police and fire brigade. This group will meet every 30 to 60 minutes and hold regular briefings.

This is what happens during a strong thunderstorm

One thing is clear: should the concert be interrupted or even canceled due to a storm and heavy thunderstorms, an evacuation plan will take effect. The 130,000 guests would then be taken “to safety in solid buildings”. In this case, it is important to pay attention to the announcements and instructions and to follow them. Even before the concert, a safety video on the LED walls in the Munich Exhibition Center should provide information on a possible evacuation.

In the event of heavy rain – without thunder and lightning – the concert will take place in any case. Here, however, visitors should bear in mind that umbrellas are forbidden on the entire site due to safety regulations. This applies to both conventional umbrellas and pocket-sized little ones. The organizer, the Leutgeb Entertainment Group, gives important tips in his Instagram post: “Please bring waterproof clothing or rain ponchos.” In any case, it will be wet.
