Helene Fischer will give the biggest concert of her career to date in Munich in the evening. The 38-year-old doesn’t even want to be stopped by the rainy weather.

Today’s Saturday is a very special day for Helene Fischer: today is her only concert in Germany this year. Perhaps more importantly, it will be the biggest gig of her career to date. 130,000 spectators are expected at the Riemer exhibition center in Munich.

But in the last few days there have been legitimate concerns as to whether the mega event will be able to take place at all. The reason: The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued an official severe weather warning for Munich. It was valid until 8 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Helene Fischer begins her concert at 8 p.m

A tight case, because admission to the Munich Exhibition Center started at 12 noon. The good news: the DWD has issued a warning of severe weather (level 2) for the neighboring districts, but in the Trudering-Riem district, where the exhibition center is located, everything has been released.

So the Schlager fans can look forward to an evening with their Helene – as long as they are waterproof. Because anyone who has already entered the premises at 12 o’clock has to wait eight hours before the singer enters the stage. After all, it is currently dry in Riem. A few thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon. But after 8 p.m., when the party is supposed to get going, the chance of rain is only 20 percent.

Should Helene Fischer’s charm bounce off the weather gods, it could be uncomfortable for the spectators: Bringing umbrellas to the exhibition center is prohibited. In the brochure for the concert, the organizer therefore calls for personal rain protection in the form of a rain jacket or rain poncho to be considered.

Maybe Helene Fischer will even sing the right song. “Courage to feel” begins with the line: “When the rain came, you were there for me.” 130,000 people can then feel addressed.
