The Winter Olympics in Beijing begin on February 4th. ARD uses a song from Helene Fischer’s new album “Rausch” for reporting.

Helene Fischer’s song “Now or Never” is the ARD song for the Winter Olympics in Beijing – and the singer herself hopes for a happy effect for the athletes. “I remember many moments in my career when it was ‘now or never’ for me too. Most of the time I chose ‘now’ and did well with it,” said Fischer of the German Press Agency. “I hope that my song will bring as much happiness to our athletes in Beijing as I associate with it myself.”

“Now or Never” can be heard on Fischer’s album “Rausch”, which was released in October. The song will now accompany viewers through the Winter Olympics on ARD, the broadcaster said. Especially the line “Now or never, this will be our time” perfectly describes the Olympic spirit.

Helene Fischer sang at the 2014 World Cup

Fischer fits “well to major sporting events” and has “true sportsmanship,” according to an ARD press release. As evidence, the broadcaster cites the appearance of the 37-year-old at the World Cup victory celebration of the German national soccer team in the summer of 2014. At that time, Fischer appeared together with the players on the fan mile in Berlin and rewrote their successful hit “Atemlos”.

The Winter Games will open in Beijing on February 4th and will last until February 20th. ARD and ZDF alternately report on the sporting event.

Helene Fischer has only planned another concert for this summer. On August 20th, the singer wants to perform in front of 150,000 fans at the exhibition center in Munich. In 2023 there will be a big arena tour with 70 concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The tour will start on March 21, 2023 in Bremen. “Tours have always been milestones in my career, so we want to break new ground with Cirque du Soleil and offer you an experience that has never existed before,” Fischer wrote on her Instagram account in November.
