Hélène Darras reacts to the filing of her complaint against Gérard Depardieu

On the evening of the filing for prescription of her complaint against Gérard Depardieu for sexual assault in 2007, the actress admitted that she was not “surprised” and defended her approach.

“Everyone sees it and no one says anything,” denounced Hélène Darras last May on BFMTV. This Monday, January 22, the Paris prosecutor’s office indicated that it had closed the complaint of the actress, who accused the actor Gérard Depardieu of having sexually assaulted her during a film shoot in 2007, as time-barred.

“The classification for prescription is not a surprise to me. If I filed a complaint, it is because I could no longer remain silent,” responded Hélène Darras to AFP.

“From now on, if my testimony allows justice to move forward with complaints not prescribed, or if it can free the speech of other victims, or even relaunch the debate on the limitation period, all this will not have been in vain,” said she added.

Other accusations and an indictment

Last May, two actresses, including Hélène Darras, accused the giant of French cinema – which disputes all the facts – in reaction to the testimony of Charlotte Arnould, who accused her of rape.

“At one point (during the filming of Disco), it was necessary to replace a silhouette, a small role that does not speak, and I was chosen. We are in a nightclub, I replace a candidate in a dance competition and I find myself next to Gérard Depardieuwhose character runs the nightclub”, Hélène Darras testified on BFMTV.

According to her, “between each take, he takes me by the waist, he touches me”. While she was wearing a “very very tight and very very short” dress, the actor allegedly put “one hand very pressed on [s]”And in the ear he asks me to go up to his dressing room”, to which she says she replied no. The scene took place “between takes with the camera and the technicians”, but according to actress “everyone sees it and no one says anything”.

In a separate case, Gérard Depardieu was indicted in Paris on December 16, 2020 for rape and sexual assault after a complaint from another actress, Charlotte Arnould, who denounced two rapes at the actor’s Parisian home at the end of August 2018. .

Charlotte Arnould’s lawyer, Me Carine Durrieu-Diebolt, recently wrote to the Paris prosecutor’s office to ask them to analyze the report from “Complément d’investigation”, according to the public prosecutor confirming information from BFMTV. The actor made numerous degrading and obscene comments addressed to women and even a little girl.
