In the Literaturhaus, Heinz Bachmann, the 14 years younger brother of the poet Ingeborg Bachmann, presents his book with memories of his famous sister – a touching evening.

First of all, it should be noted: Heinz Bachmann, the 14 years younger brother of the Austrian author Ingeborg Bachmann, whose death anniversary was this October, is not a literary figure. And he is also not comparable to biographers like Ina Hartwig (“Who was Ingeborg Bachmann?”) or Uta Degner (“Ingeborg Bachmann. Reflections of a Life”), who in the recent past have written books about those already during their lifetime, but at the latest with and since poet who became a myth after her death. But he doesn’t want that at all. Instead, the 84-year-old with a doctorate in geology wrote a “very personal document” in simple words: “Ingeborg Bachmann, my sister”, and only at the persistent insistence of Piper Verlag, its boss Felicitas von Lovenberg and program manager Thomas Tebbe Sitting in the front row on this touching evening in the Literaturhaus.
