Heidi Klum releases a new song “Sunglasses At Night”. These are her previous musical excursions.

Heidi Klum (50) will release her new single “Sunglasses At Night” on January 26th. The song, which was produced by Dutch DJ Tiësto (54), is the official title track of the new “Germany’s Next Top Model” season (starts on February 15th). It is a cover of the new wave song by Corey Hart (61) from 1983. The Canadian singer seems to be thrilled that his hit is getting a new edition around 40 years later and sent Klum a greeting on Instagram. It’s not the first time that multi-talented Heidi Klum has tried out music.

“Chai Tea with Heidi”

In January 2022 she released her song “Chai Tea With Heidi”, which also became the theme song of “Germany’s Next Top Model”. She can be heard in it together with rap star Snoop Dogg (52), and the song was produced by her husband Tom Kaulitz (34) with his new DJ project WeddingCake.

On Jimmy Fallon’s (49) talk show, Klum explained that she was very nervous before the recording. A song with the rapper has always been at the top of her “bucket list”. She also revealed that the idea came to her in the shower to incorporate the song “Baby Jane” (1983) by Rod Stewart (79) into the song.

In the “GNTM” finale, Klum himself provided the opener of the live show. She strummed the piano with her husband before singing “Chai Tea with Heidi.” After a long kiss for her lover, she conquered the stage. Song partner Snoop Dogg and the DJ project WeddingCake provided visual support as a projection. “Sorry if it was wrong, I tried it,” explained Klum after her performance.

“Wonderland”

In 2006, the model recorded the Christmas song “Wonderland”. “Wonderland, Wonderland / Shining stars / Jingle bells / This time is filled with magic,” she sings in the feel-good Christmas song, which originally served a Douglas campaign and the proceeds from which were donated. The song, which has only been released on CD to date, was also released digitally in 2021.

“I think it’s just as beautiful as it was 16 years ago – really Christmassy,” explained Klum in an interview with spot on news. “I sang this song for charity back then and will of course donate all the proceeds from the new release.” Why did she agree to the re-release? “When I’m gone someday, my grandchildren will be able to say: ‘That’s the song that grandma once made for Christmas.'”

On tour?

She indicated in December last year that Heidi Klum had apparently taken a liking to singing. In an Instagram Story she reportedly explained: “Yes, I’m going on tour with Tokio Hotel. I know this was supposed to be a surprise, but I’ll be her backup singer.” Her husband’s band had previously announced a European tour for 2025, which will take them to Frankfurt, Paris, Barcelona, Zurich and Vienna, among other places. It remains to be seen whether Klum was just making a joke with her announcement or whether she was really serious about it.

More top models and their music excursions

By the way, Klum is not the only top model who has tried her hand at singing. The best-known representative is certainly Carla Bruni (56), who, after her successful years as a model, left the business at the end of the 90s and devoted herself to chanson and released several albums. During her relationship with Pete Doherty (44) from the Babyshambles, Kate Moss (49) was also musically active and co-wrote some of the band’s songs. Naomi Campbell (53) released a whole album, “Babywoman,” in 1994. Former top model Agyness Deyn (40) has already played in her own bands and Cara Delevingne (31) recorded the single “I Feel Everything” for the film “Valerian – The City of a Thousand Planets”.
