Heatwave alert, Niamey puts pressure on Bazoum and closure of the northern axis of RER B

Did you miss the news this early morning? We’ve put together a recap to help you see things more clearly.

You will not have to forget your bottle of water to hydrate yourself this Monday in the South-East. The heat will indeed persist in this part of France with five departments placed in heat wave orange vigilance. This concerns Ain, Isère, Rhône, Savoie and Haute-Savoie. From New Aquitaine to the North-East, from the start of the day, the weather will be very cloudy and heavy. From Aquitaine to Auvergne and Lorraine, often stormy showers will circulate in the morning, which can give good accumulations of rain.

In Niamey, the junta has continued to assert its power since the July 26 coup. The soldiers have this time chosen to put pressure on Mohamed Bazoum. They thus announced Sunday evening their intention to “prosecute” the overthrown president for “high treason” and “undermining the security” of the country. The government bases its accusations on “exchanges” of Mohamed Bazoum with “nationals”, “foreign heads of state”, and “heads of international organizations”. Regarding the elected president, the regime also called for “questioning the sincerity of his claim to maintain that he is kidnapped, even though the soldiers have never taken over his presidential residence and he still has of all means of communication

In Ile-de-France, will RER B users have a hard day? The closure for the first time on a working day of part of this line indeed announces a complicated Monday. Traffic has been completely interrupted on the northern axis of the second busiest line in Europe, since Saturday and until Monday evening in both directions of traffic, between Paris-Gare du Nord and Aulnay-sous-Bois, in direction of Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, and on the second axis, between Aulnay and Mitry-Claye. To overcome this interruption, an unprecedented system has been deployed with more than 600 replacement buses and 1,000 drivers mobilized on the closed sections. The SNCF, the prefecture of Paris and Ile-de-France and Ile-de-France Mobilités have called for several days on the users concerned to postpone their trips. And carpooling is free.
