Heating law: is the traffic light overdoing it with the pace of reform? – Opinion

The traffic light coalition has good reasons for its reform ambitions. However, this does not justify overzealousness, arrogance and sloppiness. The Constitutional Court rightly warns that laws take their time.

The “new German speed” is an invention of Olaf Scholz: the chancellor coined the term when he opened a liquid gas terminal to replace Russian gas. It only took six months from application to commissioning. Scholz saw this as proof that the somewhat sluggish Federal Republic is capable of more speed than it might have dared. And that the traffic light is a good driving force.
