Health Insurance general meeting ends in collective intoxication

The first symptoms appeared on Wednesday. More than 230 agents working for the Primary Health Insurance Fund (CPAM) of Morbihan were on sick leave on Thursday due to pain and gastric problems. Two of them had to be hospitalized.

However, sick staff do not work in the same cities. But everyone had in common that they had participated in the general assembly of the CPAMat the Lorient convention center, reports West France. They had shared the same meal served by a caterer.

State services have opened an investigation to understand what could have happened. The hypothesis of collective food poisoning is favored by the prefecture of Morbihan. The precise origin of the poisoning remains to be clarified.
