Head of pension insurance Bavaria South deposed – Bavaria

The Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bayern Süd has dismissed the chairwoman of the management board, Elisabeth Häusler. She was “out of service,” said the pension fund, without giving any further details. For reasons of data protection, it is not possible to say more about the personnel. On the website of the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bayern Süd, Häusler was last named as the chair of the three-person management board.

DRV Bayern Süd is one of the largest providers of social security in Bavaria. According to its own statements, it looks after around 1.3 million pensioners and 2.9 million insured persons in the administrative districts of Upper Bavaria, Lower Bavaria and Upper Palatinate. The Landshut-based corporation has around 3,700 employees and a budget of almost 18 billion euros.

Elisabeth Häusler herself did not comment on her dismissal. She only emphasized that she had nothing to reproach herself for in her position. She was completely surprised by the decision. She is currently continuing to receive her salary. There are still around two years left until her regular retirement.

The meeting of representatives makes the decision as to who runs the pension provider. Employers’ associations and trade unions send delegates to them within the framework of self-government. The employers’ side is currently in the chair. The Association of Bavarian Business as an employers’ association also explains that, for data protection reasons, it cannot provide any information as to why the head of the German pension insurance system in Bavaria South is off duty.
