He was only 26 years old

He was active as a musician and actor: Pablo Grant. Crime fans have known him as Günther Márquez from ARD for four years. Now he has died at the age of 26.

With BHZ he made a name for himself in the rap industry. Pablo Grant was part of the collective that shook up the hip-hop business with songs like “Powerrade” and performed there under the pseudonym Dead Dawg. Now the musician is dead. As his family announced on social networks on Sunday evening, the Berlin native died “unexpectedly” at the age of just 26.

“The artist, actor, musician and part of BHZ, Pablo Grant, died unexpectedly on February 6th at the age of 26 as a result of a thrombosis,” says the statement to the public. “The family and friends of the deceased are heartbroken and ask that their privacy be respected and no contact be made at this difficult time until further notice.”

Just a few days earlier, his band BHZ had canceled the planned tour without replacement. The only mention of the cancellation was “very short-term health reasons”. The tour was actually supposed to start on February 8th in Vienna and end on March 1st in Berlin. Now there is sad certainty about the exact background.

Breakthrough in “police call” in 2020

It is still unclear what will happen to the music group without Pablo Grant. At 26, Grant had not only a music career but also an acting career. Among other things, he made his cinematic debut in 2016’s “Bibi & Tina: Girls Against Boys”. In the film directed by Detlev Buck he played the character Bino. Further roles followed, including in the same year in “Tatort: Wir – Ihr – Sie” and the film “Misfit” three years later.

The breakthrough on ARD finally followed in 2020. Pablo Grant received a permanent role in the crime series “Polizeiruf 110”.

He has been playing in the Magdeburg edition for four years and in a total of five appearances alongside Claudia Michelsen and her commissioner Doreen Brasch.
