He receives 40,000 euros in unemployment benefits… while he works

The scam lasted more than two years. From June 2019 to September 2021, a 39-year-old Toulousain, driver in the field of logistics, received nearly 40,000 euros in unemployment benefits. Except that, all this time, he had a job.

It was probably by crossing data that Pôle emploi Occitanie discovered the pot of roses. The organization filed a complaint in August and the investigation led to the summons of the 30-year-old to the police station on Monday. From a police source, the man quickly admitted to being a false unemployed person.

He is summoned in May 2023 to the Courthouse to appear in the context of a “guilty plea” procedure. By then, he will have to start repaying the tidy sum he has unduly received.
