“He left us the choice and respected it”, assures Erding about Ramadan

In the midst of a storm since Tuesday evening and the publication of an email attributed to Julien Fournier targeting him, Christophe Galtier can still count on some support. Thus Mevlut Erding, who rubbed shoulders with the current PSG coach at Sochaux then Saint-Etienne, wanted to say that he had never had any problem with him, quite the contrary.

“I didn’t feel any racism from him. I myself was doing Ramadan when I was under his orders and I can tell you that he gave us the choice, he respected it. There was really no racism, ”testified the former Franco-Turkish striker near The Team.

“A fantastic coach and person”

Erding says he practiced fasting during training weeks and that Christophe Galtier “trusted” him for weekend matches. “If I can plead in his favor, I will,” he said, adding that he had spoken about the subject with the former Lille resident Burak Yilmaz and that the latter had felt the same tolerance.

Yilmaz had himself published a message on Wednesday on his social networks to defend his former coach. “I never felt any negative behavior from him because of my religion or my nationality. He’s a fantastic coach as well as a fantastic person,” the Turk wrote.
