US actress Hayden Panettiere called for solidarity with Ukraine on Instagram

For months it had been quiet on the Instagram account of US actress Hayden Panettiere. But the war in Ukraine does not leave them cold either. In a post, Wladimir Klitschko’s ex-fiancée calls for support and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

US actress Hayden Panettiere was with former world boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko, 45, for around six and a half years, and they have their daughter Kaya. Although the couple has been separated for four years, the 32-year-old is very worried about him, his family and the people in his Ukrainian homeland in view of the war in Ukraine.

After a month-long Instagram break, she is now back there with a touching post. An apparently older photo shows the actress in an intimate embrace with a Ukrainian. She’s beaming from ear to ear. Wladimir Klitschko is standing next to her and is happy with her.

Panettiere wrote about the picture: “I have personally convinced myself of the strength of the Ukrainian people, who have fought so hard for their independence and have passionately defended their country over the years. What Putin is doing is an absolute disgrace! This terrible moment in story sends a chilling message: the message that in this day and age, in 2022, it’s okay to violate the rights of free people and allow autocrats like Putin to take what they want”.

Praying for her family and friends there and for all who are struggling, she continues: “I wish you had more support and I wish I was there fighting with you! For now, I ask those of us who can’t be there to stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and show their support for #democracy.

When asked by a fan whether daughter Kaya was in Ukraine with her father, she reassured: “She is safe and not in Ukraine.”

Wladimir Klitschko is currently in Kiev with his brother Vitali. He has been mayor of the city since 2014, which has been under fire from the Russian army for three days.

Klitschko and Panettiere got together in 2010 and split in May 2011. They got back together in 2013. Daughter Kaya was born in December 2014. They announced their split in August 2018.
