Harvest time in Ebersberg: The press is ready – Ebersberg

The Ebersberg Horticulture and Land Conservation Association will resume operations at the end of August this year at the end of August. He offers interested customers the opportunity to press their fruit and to pasteurize their own juice through gentle indirect heating using a heat exchanger, thus producing long-life fruit juice already bottled and ready to use.

The juice is filled into a five or ten liter bag with an integrated dispensing valve and stored in an outer packaging made of a folding carton. The bubble-free filling allows the juice to be removed from the bag over a longer period of time without any loss of quality, as the gardening association reports. After the fruit juice has been used up, the folding carton can be folded up and reused in the next season with a new bag.

Prices had to be increased for several reasons

This offer applies to members of the association as well as non-members. For those who want to have fruit pressed, the following should be noted: The fruit should already be pre-washed by the customer and any rotten areas should be cut out. Hygiene is a prerequisite for a good shelf life of the juice, as the experts from the association point out.

Soft pears, but also mealy-soft apples, cannot be pressed. Fruit should be delivered freshly harvested. Quinces cannot be pasteurized, so this juice is only cold-pressed. Smaller quantities can also be pressed, but it should be at least 30 kilos. The association points out that the reported amount should be approximately adhered to.

Also this year, the association would like to act again as a broker of fruit. There is much fruit that perishes without being used. Still others would like to make juice but don’t have the right fruit. Here the association would like to try to bring private suppliers and buyers together. So if you have surplus fruit or are interested in apples and pears, you can also contact the fruit press telephone.

According to the association, the prices had to be increased this year: inflation, massively increased prices for liquid gas and wage increases would have made this measure necessary. Five liters in a bag with a carton, for example, now costs 5.90 euros, ten liters ten euros.

Registrations for the fruit press will be accepted from Monday, August 22, Monday to Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. by calling (08092) 232 17 47.
