He is best known as the charming, curly-headed fellow in teen boy band One Direction: Harry Styles. Today, the “As it was” singer is not only a world star, but also influenced the fashion industry of the time with his extravagant styling and harmonious fashion moves. In 2020 he was the first man ever to be seen on the cover of “Vogue” – in a white lace dress and with a balloon. Shortly thereafter, he was named the man with the greatest fashion influence by the fashion network “Lyst”.
But that was not always so. It wasn’t until 2013 that the then 19-year-old slowly began to shed his boy band image, at least in fashion. While his band members still focused on basics and bright colors, Styles was increasingly seen in extravagant outfits. His classic combination at the time: skinny jeans and boots in an “all black” look, plus dark sunglasses and an ever-growing, impressive collection of tattoos all over his body. Even then, his style caught the eye of fashion connoisseurs, and at the end of the year Styles received the “British Fashion Award” for his personal style for the first time.
Fashionista Harry Styles: From Saint Laurent to Gucci
To this day, Styles has remained true to its “signature” look and has refined it over the years. The Saint Laurent and Gucchi era, which you can see in the gallery above, was followed by more and more fashion experimentation. The world star can now even look forward to his own collection. The “Ha Ha Ha” collection from Gucci was released last fall and bears the unmistakable style’s fashionable signature: Feminine looks, colorful patterns and exciting combinations with seventies flair clearly characterize the 29-year-old’s fashion footprint. Pearl necklaces, “Harry’s House” Molly Goddard jeans, Hawaiian shirts and trouser suits, some of which the singer also includes in his new collection, are now absolute “signature” pieces from Styles.
