Harry Styles is not about to set foot on Hollywood film sets again. After making his debut in front of Christopher Nolan’s camera in Dunkirk (2017), the pop star chained roles and other cameos until becoming a first-choice comedian for the studios. But Harry Styles is already bored.
“I can’t imagine making a film for a while. I think there will be a time again when I feel like it. But when you make music, something happens. You feel really creative, and it feeds things,” he explained to RollingStone. “A big part of acting is doing nothing, waiting. And if that’s the worst part, then that’s a pretty good job. But I don’t find that part of the job so fulfilling. I like doing it in the moment, but I don’t think I’ll do it often. »
Nothing replaces the scene
In fact, for Harry Styles, the stage experience offers instant gratification unlike the lengthy production process involved in making a film. “In music, there’s such an immediate response to what you’re doing. You finish a song and people clap,” he continued. “When you’re filming and we’re yelling ‘cut’,” part of you might be expecting everyone to start clapping, (but) that’s not the case. Everyone, of course, goes back to their work, and you’re like, “Oh shit, was that so bad?” »
