For a long time, betraying secrets was considered a mortal sin among Harry Potter fans. Remember July 21, 2007, when the first copies of the seventh volume (“The Deathly Hallows”) were delivered in high-security trucks. The quite a few fans who had read the tome within a day were of course eager to peddle their knowledge – that is, that the doomed sorcerer’s apprentice defeated the noseless ne’er-do-well Lord Voldemort in the final battle… Anyone who didn’t want to hear that helped also no “Petrificus Totalus” (petrification spell) and no threat that anyone who reveals the end will spit snails in the future.
