“Harry Potter”: Big celebs at the premiere in Hamburg

The theater play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, which has been postponed several times due to the corona, has been showing in Hamburg since Sunday. Among the visitors to the premiere celebration in the “Mehr! -Theater” on the wholesale market were prominent guests such as the singer Alexander Klaws and the actors Sky du Mont, Bettina Zimmermann and Wayne Carpendale. The latter came with his wife, the presenter Annemarie Carpendale. Hamburg’s First Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) also attended the performance with his wife.

The audience was enthusiastic, clapping as if they had saved the applause for almost two years. Again and again there was applause and cheers, especially for the wonderfully staged magic on stage.

Ingo Zamperoni shows himself to be a Harry Potter fan

“I’m excited like a little kid, if I’m honest. I loved the books,” said actor Jo Weil shortly before the performance began. News presenter Ingo Zamperoni also showed himself to be a Harry Potter fan at the premiere: “I read all the volumes with my children. We were also in the studios in London.” The adventures and stories are part of being a father.

Many fans had longed for the premiere – the German-language premiere was originally planned for March 2020. But the corona pandemic ruined the plans. It only worked after the fourth attempt. The performance on Sunday took place – like all upcoming performances – under 2G-plus conditions: with a test for the vaccinated or recovered visitors and a mask requirement.
