The Netflix documentary of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan is currently one of the topics of conversation, not only among royal fans. The streaming service is enjoying great success, but the Sussexes’ popularity is falling.

Not only in Great Britain Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are on everyone’s lips. This is shown by the great success of their documentary series on Netflix.

As the streaming service announced on Tuesday, “Harry & Meghan” was seen more often in the first week of publication than any other Netflix documentary – worldwide.

“Harry & Meghan” is a success for Netflix

Although Meghan and Harry already discussed their exit from the royal family in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the interest in the history of the Sussexes is still immense. They give an intimate insight into the royal family. So not only the success of “The Crown” proves that fans want to see exactly that.

At the same time, Meghan and Harry’s popularity ratings seem to speak a different language. Because the fact that the documentary series is watched a lot does not automatically mean that all viewers are fans of the couple at the same time.

popularity ratings are falling

According to British market research “YouGov”, both Harry’s and Meghan’s popularity ratings fell after the documentary was released. Only 33 percent have a positive opinion of Prince Harry, 59 percent a negative one. Things are looking even worse for the Duchess. Only 25 per cent of Brits are well-disposed towards it, while 64 per cent dislike it.

In the overall ranking, the two occupy the third last and penultimate place. Only Prince Andrew, who has withdrawn from the public eye because of his friendship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and the allegations against him, is currently less popular.

Netflix should be particularly pleased. With the documentary, the streaming service has achieved a real coup.
