The poker round Bavaria-Popular player Harry Kane (30) pulls. And now Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou (57) is adding fuel to the fire.
After Spurs’ 5-1 test victory against Shakhtar Donetsk, in which Kane made four booths, the new coach spoke about the interest of the German record champions in his player.

Postecoglou: “I think what is a fact now is that he is a contract player for our club. I certainly wouldn’t talk about contract players at other clubs, but I’m not at Bayern, so they can do whatever they want.”

When asked whether the public statements by Uli Hoeneß (“Then Tottenham will buckle”) and President Herber Hainer (“Kane would be good for both us and the Bundesliga”), he says: “That is Bayern’s decision. If that’s how they want to handle things, it’s not for me to judge. It does not concern me. I don’t sit there every day and think about what other clubs are doing.”
The Australian also explains – when asked about a possible deadline from Bayern: “We know that there is a deadline and that is the end of the transfer window.”
And further: “In addition, I am regularly in an open exchange with Harry and the club. I told them to let me know if the status quo changes.”
Tottenham plays Barcelona in a friendly on Tuesday. The league starts for Spurs next Sunday (3 p.m. in Brentford). Kane is said to have told the club that he wants clarity by then at the latest.
Postecoglou: “Of course I would use him. He’s a fantastic striker, one of the best in the world. The way the team plays helps him. He loves to score goals. We created a lot of chances today and he was the beneficiary.”
