During their visit to Düsseldorf, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan appear to have to take care of their own safety.
Prince Harry (37) and his wife Duchess Meghan (41) are visiting Düsseldorf this Tuesday. In almost exactly a year, the Invictus Games created by Harry are to be held here. However, the Sussexes apparently have to pay for their safety themselves during their visit to the Rhine. As the “Daily Mail” reports, the German authorities classify Harry and Meghan’s trip as a “private event”. Police protection is therefore only granted to a limited extent.
This is how Harry and Meghan’s visit to Düsseldorf will take place
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will therefore drive from the airport to the city center to register in the city hall in the golden book of the city of Düsseldorf. Officially, barriers have been erected on this stretch of road to enable free passage. As the “Daily Mail” claims to have learned, accompanying police vehicles will not turn on their blue lights. There are also no plans for police motorcycles to flank them.
At the town hall and later in the Düsseldorf football stadium, the venue for next year’s Invictus Games, the police will only limit themselves to controlling incoming traffic. According to the “Daily Mail”, bodyguards, who accompanied the Sussexes in Manchester yesterday, will also ensure the couple’s safety in Düsseldorf – supplemented by a “small local security team”.

The minor security precautions taken by the state in Düsseldorf may awaken unpleasant memories of the situation in England for the number six in line to the British throne. Here the Sussexes are no longer granted full police protection after their resignation from their royal duties, while Harry is taking legal action.
