Hard blow for Toulon… Back blocked, Dan Biggar collapses during his run-up

After retiring from international duty at the end of the last World Cup, Dan Biggar (34) made his return to the Top 14 on Saturday in Perpignan, with Toulon. A comeback that ended short: the Welsh flyhalf of the Var club only stayed on the pitch for 10 minutes.

As he lunged to convert a try scored by Charles Ollivon, Biggar collapsed during his run-up, clutching his lower back.

The RCT opener was replaced by former Briviste Enzo Hervé, while his team led 5-3. In the end, Toulon lost (26-22) and settled for the defensive bonus point against a Catalan team which had heavily lost its first four championship matches.

It now remains to be known the unavailability of the former captain of Wales, who played his 112th and last match with the Red Devils during the quarter-final of the French World Cup lost to Argentina (17-29), on October 14.
