Harald Glööckler will venture into the jungle camp in 2022. However, he starts the trip to South Africa without his husband.

In a few weeks, RTL will say “I’m a star – get me out of here!” For the first time, the jungle camp will take place in South Africa. In addition to Lucas Cordalis (54) and Filip Pavlovic (27), designer Harald Glööckler (56) also dares the adventure. However, he will start the trip without his husband Dieter Schroth (72). “He will follow the whole thing from home,” explains Glööckler. In an interview with the news agency spot on news, he made it clear: Anything but winning is not an option for the 56-year-old.

The countdown to your jungle camp adventure is on. How big is the anticipation?

Harald Glööckler: I’m really looking forward to the jungle camp. I am always looking for new challenges that I can face. Because only they bring us further, they force us to step out of our comfort zone and that is important. However, when you’ve come through so much in life, it’s not that easy to keep finding exciting new ways to make it happen. The jungle camp is a great challenge that I’m really looking forward to and that will certainly push me to my limits.

This year the show will take place in South Africa for the first time. Are you sad that things are not going to Australia as planned?

Glööckler: I’m happy that I’m going to South Africa. I love South Africa and I think it’s a better choice energetically.

What do you have the most respect for?

Glööckler: I have great respect for everything and everyone in life, but not afraid.

You are a vegetarian, will the food tests take a lot of effort?

Glööckler: That may be true, but then you have to go through it. There are worse things in life, believe me.

Believe that you will send the audience into a particularly large number of exams. Have you set a limit when it comes to exams?

Glööckler: I can’t say that. It may well be that I will first be sent strongly to exams. But I’m not worrying about that yet, I can do that when the time comes. And no, I have no limits. I go there to expand limits, not to set limits.

You have already got to know two of your colleagues. How do you rate Lucas Cordalis and Filip Pavlovic?

Glööckler: It is not my job to evaluate or assess my fellow campaigners – I leave that to others.

If you could choose other comrades-in-arms, who would you still like to see in the camp and who would you rather not?

Glööckler: I’m dispassionate, that’s not a request concert. It is as it is and I take it as it comes. At the end of the day, I got along with everyone and that’s how it will be this time too.

Will your husband come with you to South Africa?

Glööckler: No, my husband doesn’t go on long trips and that’s why it’s not an issue. He will follow the whole thing from home.

Have you already had your optics optimized in advance? Are further interventions planned before the start?

Glööckler: Not at the moment, but I cannot deny that in general. “You never now” – if something is up, it is up. But at the moment I would say: No, at the moment everything is in its place.

How do you rate your chances of winning? Do you think you can win the crown in the end?

Glööckler: Of course I think I’ll win the crown. I am firmly convinced and do not believe in defeat – that is not my topic. I’m a winner, my goal is always to win.
