In the summer of 2022, the last take was made for the mini-series “Club Las Piranjas” with Hape Kerkeling. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release date of the sequel to the cult film from the 90s. Now it’s clear: the series “Club Las Piranjas” will be a big fiction highlight of the coming season on RTL and RTL+. The specific broadcast date will be announced in good time.
Hape Kerkeling as entertainer Edwin Öttel
In the series sequel to the cult comedy of the same name from 1995, Hape Kerkeling slips back into the lead role of entertainer Edwin Öttel, who is caught up in his past. Back in vacation paradise, he gets caught up in all sorts of trouble. Also back: Angelika Milster, who then and now plays Edwin’s clever colleague Biggi Jakobs, and Judy Winter in the role of hotel manager Dr. Renate Wenger.
But new characters are also welcome in the club – and top-class cast. In addition to Hape Kerkeling, Ben Münchow (“Because we are champions”) and Trang Le Hong (“Semi-detached house”) play the leading roles. Other roles are played by Cordula Stratmann (“Ellerbeck”), Benno Fürmann (“Babylon Berlin”), Rick Kavanian (“Der Schuh des Manitu”) and Andrea Sawatzki (“Bundschuh Family”).
