Hans-Christian Ströbele, icon of the Greens, hater of war, gunner in the reserve and once also a terrorist lawyer, has died at the age of 83. This was announced by his lawyer on Wednesday. With him, the Greens lose a controversial legend, Ströbele himself a bet on his own life. “I always refused to take out pension insurance,” he once said. “Because I was convinced that by then the revolution would have won anyway.” In the end it turned out differently.
