Handball EM: Germany wins in the second game against Austria

Germany’s handball players also won their second game at the European Championship. The team of national coach Alfred Gislason defeated Austria 34:28 (15:16) and now has the best chance of entering the main round. The best German thrower in front of 1485 spectators in the Ondreja Nepelu Arena in Bratislava was Timo Kastening with nine goals.

In the final preliminary round game on Tuesday (6:00 p.m./ZDF) against Poland, one point is enough for the German Handball Federation (DHB) to secure entry into the next phase of the tournament. The first two teams of all six preliminary round groups qualify for the main round. The German team had won their first game against Belarus (33:29).
