Hamburg: Unclear threat situation at school in Blankenese – Panorama

Two people are said to have shown a firearm in a classroom in a Hamburg school in the Blankenese district and possibly threatened a teacher. The two unknown men then left the classroom and fled. This is what witnesses reported to the police; the school reported to the officials in the morning.

There are no indications of injuries. The police spoke of a “threat situation” and nothing was known about an act of bodily harm, said a police spokesman. The witness statements would now be checked.

The emergency services are currently looking for the unknown people. According to the police spokesman, there are two male, rather young people. The police announced on X (formerly Twitter) that they were also searching the school building to check whether the suspected perpetrators were still on the premises.

The police are deployed with many forces. The area around the school was largely cordoned off. Emergency services accompanied students from the school to a nearby collection point.

Blankenese is located on the Elbe and is considered a wealthy district in Hamburg. The Blankenese district school has around 1,150 students – around 400 of them in the upper secondary school alone. They are taught by more than 120 teachers.
