Residents of an apartment building in Hamburg-Ottensen reported shots. A little later, two lifeless bodies were discovered. The police are investigating.

The Hamburg police are investigating after the discovery of two bodies in an apartment building in the Ottensen district.

Several shots were reported to the officers by telephone at 8.45 a.m., a police spokeswoman said star. According to the “Hamburger Abendblatt”, a resident of the house discovered the lifeless bodies of a man and a woman, both said to have had gunshot wounds.

Rescuers who rushed to the scene were unable to save the two. Because it was not certain whether a possible perpetrator was on the run, the police moved in with a large contingent on Scheel-Plessen-Straße next to the tracks of the Hamburg-Altona train station. The area has been cordoned off.

According to initial findings, the investigators are now assuming a homicide followed by suicide. The murder commission should now clarify the course of action. The police initially did not want to provide any information on the identity of the dead, out of consideration for the investigation and the relatives who had not yet been informed.
