They have pushed superstar Beyoncé off the top of the album charts: the indie rockers Kettcar are at the top this week.

The Hamburg indie rock band Kettcar has reached the top of the album charts for the first time. “Your latest prank, ‘Good mood unfairly distributed’, displaces none other than Beyoncé (“Cowboy Carter”) from the throne,” said GfK Entertainment. The band was founded in 2001.

According to GfK, bassist Reimer Bustorff said: “The fact that we are going to number 1 in the album charts with Kettcar and our own small record company Grand Hotel van Cleef makes us very happy and also makes us a little proud.”

Behind them are two other newcomers: the band Khruangbin (“A La Sala”, second place) and The Black Keys (“Ohio Players”, third place). Beyoncé lands this week on the four, ahead of the Einstreiche Neuhäusern with “Rampen (APM: Alien Pop Music)” at number 5.

The singles charts are grouped together this week with Artemas’ electro-pop song “I Like The Way You Kiss Me” at number one and singer-songwriter Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” at number two. The DJ and producer Cyril lands on number three with the new edition of the song “Stumblin’ In”.
