Early in the morning, a man drives his car into Hamburg’s Outer Alster. The car sinks completely. The man disappears from the scene of the accident. Many questions are still open.

For initially completely unknown reasons, a man drove his car into Hamburg’s Outer Alster early in the morning – the car completely sank there. A witness noticed the accident and alerted the emergency services, as a police spokesman said in the morning Hamburg said. When the fire department and police arrived at the scene of the accident, the man was already gone.

He was finally found dripping wet in his apartment nearby. It initially remained unclear why he drove into the Alster and whether other people were traveling with him. “Only he knows that and he remains silent,” said the police spokesman. Divers therefore checked the submerged car, but found no one.

The fire department finally pulled the car out of the Outer Alster. The city cleaning service was also already on the scene because the man probably left behind a field of debris on his way into the water. He ended up going to the hospital. The fire department and police were initially unable to provide any information about the type of injuries or his age. The Outer Alster is currently around six degrees Celsius cold.
