Olaf Kossakowski has his hands full. The manager of the Hamburg Christmas market has to make sure that everything comes to the right place, because this year everything will be set up very differently than usual is separated from the rest of the market by a fence. You can see in the video whether people in Hamburg are still looking forward to the Christmas market.

There’s food and mulled wine behind the fence

On the side of the town hall there is a fenced-in catering area with food and mulled wine – only those who have been vaccinated or recovered have access there. On the other side of the market with the dealers and their Christmas items, everyone has access, but there is a mask requirement. However, the visitors have to forego a tradition that they have cherished. The “Flying Santa Claus”, which was otherwise to be seen three times a day over the town hall market, will not be there this year.
