Emmanuel Macron continues to try to convince Benjamin Netanyahu to silence the guns in the Middle East. The Head of State thus reiterated on Wednesday, during a telephone interview with the Israeli Prime Minister, his request for a “lasting ceasefire, with the help of all regional and international partners” in Gaza. During this exchange, the president indicated, according to the Elysée, that “France will work in the coming days, in conjunction with Jordan, to carry out humanitarian operations” in the Palestinian territory.
Emmanuel Macron also expressed “his deepest concern at the very heavy civilian death toll and the absolute humanitarian emergency situation faced by the civilian population of Gaza”. He once again “insisted on the importance for Israel to take all necessary measures to put an end to the violence committed by certain settlers against Palestinian civilians” in the occupied West Bank, “as well as to any new colonization project” in this territory.
