Hamas-Israel War: Producer of Israeli Netflix series “Fauda” killed in Gaza

“The cast and crew are heartbroken. » The producer of the Israeli series broadcast on Netflix Fauda died fighting in the Gaza Strip, the program’s official account announced on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.

Matan Meir, a reservist, was involved in the fighting led by the Israeli army after the bloody attacks by Hamas on October 7. He was part of a team of five soldiers killed in the explosion of a booby-trapped tunnel in the northern Gaza Strip.

A “tragic loss”

“We are devastated to learn that one of our Fauda family members has died in combat in Gaza. The cast and crew are heartbroken over this tragic loss. We extend our condolences to Matan’s family and friends. May his soul rest in peace,” the team wrote in the press release broadcast on X.

Fauda is a series born in 2015. It follows the missions of an Israeli special forces unit, Mista’arvim, which tracks down a Hamas terrorist, responsible for several attacks. Four seasons have already been broadcast and filming for the fifth was interrupted by the conflict between Hamas and Israel.
