The first long trailer for the new “Halo” series is here! This is revealed by the clip about the live-action adaptation of the video game series.

The US streaming service Paramount+ has the first long trailer released about the new “Halo” series – and revealed the start date. What is the sci-fi action about? Who is playing? And when does it start?

What is the “Halo” series about?

The “Halo” series is a live-action adaptation of the popular video game series of the same name. In it, humanity fights against an alien army, the Covenant. The focus is on the Master Chief, a modified super soldier played by Pablo Schreiber (43). Part of the Spartan program, he was trained for one reason: “To win this war. He and the other Spartans are our only effective weapons against the Covenant,” the trailer states.

But the elite soldiers in the sci-fi series don’t just have to deal with the alien threat, as the trailer shows. The Master Chief also comes across a mysterious object. “Our deadliest weapon is our greatest hope,” the clip reads. The artificial intelligence Cortana, which supports the soldiers, can also be seen. Where exactly this will lead is currently unknown.

Which actors are there?

Pablo Schreiber is known, among other things, from “The Wire” and “Orange Is the New Black”. He will be seen alongside “Californication” star Natascha McElhone (52) and Yerin Ha (“Reef Break”). Jen Taylor (48) speaks Cortana. The actress and voice actor also lends her voice to the character in the video games and Microsoft’s voice assistant in the US version.

The series should probably be based quite closely on the template. The team also includes executive producers Kiki Wolfkill, Frank O’Connor and Bonnie Ross from game developer 343 Industries. This is reported by the US industry magazine “Variety”.

When and where can the series be seen?

In the US, the Paramount+ streaming service will show the series from March 24th. According to media reports, the service should also come to Germany in 2022. Exactly when is not yet known. There is also no information about the subscription prices. It is also unclear whether the series could end up with another provider at the start.
