Halloween in Munich: 100 young people gather at the Riem Arcades – police clear the space – Munich

The Munich police drew a calm conclusion after Halloween night from Tuesday to Wednesday. There were 253 more missions than in the previous year – in 2022 there were 160. In most cases, however, it was just a matter of disturbing the peace. Damage to property was reported ten times and physical injuries were reported 33 times.

The police had a major operation at around 8 p.m. at the Human Rights Square near the Riem Arcades. Around 100 young people gathered there, dressed in Halloween costumes. Firecrackers and other pyrotechnics were occasionally set off, so the police operations management decided to clear the area. This was done by 50 to 100 officers from the operational unit and the support command. When the revelers realized what was coming, they chose to leave the square voluntarily and peacefully.

Overall, however, the police emphasize, most of the celebrants behaved “very sensibly,” so that the outcome of Halloween night 2023 is positive.
