Admittedly, the idea of a pizza with deep black spiders and gruesome ghosts as a topping may sound rather uninviting at first – but once you take a bite, you can safely breathe a sigh of relief. Because behind the scary facade there is a wonderfully “normal” pizza aroma that makes the ghost pizza a culinary party hit and visual Halloween fun.

Sausage fingers and bloody punch are a thing of the past. With just a few ingredients, the Halloween pizza impresses in every respect: scary ghosts made from fine mozzarella and menacing spiders made from black olives create a spooky look in a purely natural way.

preparation

  1. Mix flour and salt. Place in a bowl and make a well.
  2. Crumble the yeast cube into the lukewarm water and mix until no residue remains. Add to the well along with the olive oil.
  3. Then knead the dough thoroughly for at least 5 to 10 minutes until it is smooth and no longer sticks.
  4. Roll out the dough and place it on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Preheat the oven to the highest level of top/bottom heat.
  5. Prepare the tomato sauce: Peel and finely chop the garlic and onion. Mix together with the remaining ingredients in a bowl; you can also prepare it in a blender.
  6. Spread the finished dough with the tomato sauce. Sprinkle with the grated cheese.
  7. Cut the mozzarella into thin slices and then shape it into a ghost shape. This works with a sharp knife or kitchen scissors. Pour on the pizza.
  8. For the spiders, halve the olives. Cut half of the divided olives into thin half rings and place them around the entire halves as spider legs. The remaining olives can be used to make eyes for the ghosts by simply punching out the olive flesh with a straw.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
  10. Serve.
