In Saxony-Anhalt, a police officer who is said to have been a pen friend with the right-wing terrorist Stephan B. has been on leave. Several letters are said to have been discovered in the cell of the Halle assassin.
A police commissioner from Saxony-Anhalt is said to have researched WDR, NDR and “Süddeutscher Zeitung” were suspended from duty due to a pen friendship with the Halle assassin Stephan B. The officer who works for the Bitterfeld police is said to have written more than ten letters to the right-wing terrorist. In December 2020 he was sentenced to life imprisonment with subsequent preventive detention for two murders and attempted murder in numerous other cases.
Colleague was already noticed in the summer
The letters from the policewoman are said to have been discovered during a search of Stephan B.’s cell. In it, the officer is said to have partly expressed sympathy for the anti-Semite. On October 9, 2019, the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, Stephan B. attacked the synagogue in Halle with self-made weapons and explosives.
The massive door of the building prevented B. from entering. Instead, he shot a passerby and a young man in a nearby kebab shop before the police could stop him.
The officer is said to have attracted attention in early summer, however, because she is said to have made strange comments to colleagues about Stephan B. She is said to have expressed sympathy for the perpetrator and relativized his act. The superiors were then informed, who in turn are said to have confronted the police officer, according to security circles in Saxony-Anhalt.
Other people are being checked
The police superintendent is said to have given a false name and address for her pen friendship with the assassin. Therefore, during the post control in the correctional facility in which Stephan B. is incarcerated, it was not immediately clear that it was a police officer. The right-wing terrorist is said to have received letters from several people, which are now also being checked. The Ministry of the Interior of Saxony-Anhalt did not want to comment on the matter when asked.
