Halftime show at the Super Bowl in pictures: the rappers and the celebrities

With rapper 50 Cent as a surprise guest, music stars Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar throw an acclaimed rap party at halftime in the Super Bowl.

Surrounded by numerous dancers, the six musicians presented a medley of their greatest hits, including “The Next Episode”, “California Love”, “In Da Club”, ” Family Affair” and “Lose Yourself”. As a stage on Sunday (local time) a kind of small town with houses, shops and fancy cars was set up in front of it.

Every year, the Super Bowl is not only a major sporting event, but also a huge platform for the advertising industry and a music extravaganza, which this year for the first time was all about hip-hop, R&B and rap. In the past, stars like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince and the Rolling Stones have graced the halftime show stage. Around 100 million people in the US alone are watching the National Football League championship final live on television.

This year’s packed crowd also included stars including glamor couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Charlize Theron and musicians The Weeknd and Cardi B. Country star Mickey Guyton sang the US song before the game national anthem, actor Dwayne Johnson announced the teams.
