The municipality of Haar is restricting the opening hours of the municipal baths due to a shortage of staff. The Jagdfeld indoor pool is unaffected. However, the Konrad indoor pool will remain closed for two weekends, i.e. on April 26th and 27th. March and on 2./3. April, closed. The outdoor pool season begins two weeks later in mid-May. Mayor Andreas Bukowski (CSU) justifies these restrictions with the difficult search for seasonal workers. It turns out, he says when asked, that many people have apparently reoriented themselves professionally during the corona pandemic. Pools were completely closed for many months, and only limited operation was possible for a long time. Therefore, employees from this area went to other jobs. You can feel that now, especially when it comes to the start of the outdoor pool season. According to Bukwoski, operations in the indoor pool on Konradstraße are now being reduced because a lifeguard is going on sabbatical and no replacement can be found quickly.
The restrictions are also helping the municipality to better manage the transition from winter to summer operation. And they also consider this to be justifiable in the town hall, not least because there are even two indoor swimming pools in Haar. In the Konradbad relatively few swimmers are directly affected, says Bukowski. It’s maybe five to ten bathers a day. The closing time helps to get the Konradbad to switch to summer operation. Above all, this applies to the outdoor pool, where guests are only expected two weeks later. A new children’s area has been created there in recent weeks. The old plant and the construction site still have to be dismantled, says Bukowksi. That could now happen with more air.
