Haar near Munich – Gasthof “Zur Post” will not open until summer 2023 – district of Munich

The people of Haar will probably have to do without their Gasthof zur Post longer than expected. According to Mayor Andreas Bukowski (CSU), an opening at the beginning of next year is no longer possible. He is currently assuming a date in July 2023. This also has an impact on the plans to replace the trimmed maypole in front of the inn with a whole new one. The Maibaumfreunde actually wanted to tackle this in May 2023. But as Werner Schwarz from the Maibaumfreunde says, a celebration with several thousand visitors is not feasible without the inn and the hospitality from there. A new maypole will therefore not be erected until 2024.

The renovation of the inn itself and the adjoining town house is proving difficult. Bukowski complains that this major project was poorly planned for a long time. In addition, the Greens insisted that the gas boilers that are used to heat the buildings should not only be replaced. In view of the climate and energy crisis, they got through in the municipal council that the issue of heat supply should be left out for the time being and solved during the subsequent renovation of the community center complex. Because of the work that is gradually beginning in the community center, the municipal council is now meeting again in the town hall. According to the administration, a completed planning for the community center section is not yet available.

The inn, which is owned by the municipality, has been closed since October 2021. At that time, the Dabernig family stopped after 21 years. According to the town hall, a new tenant has already been found. But now he has to prepare himself for a later start. Mayor Andreas Bukowski (CSU) has recently been impatient and warned of further delays. He said the Haarers were right in demanding that their inn be returned as soon as possible.
